Chalet Hotel and Chalet mealsChalet Hotel and Chalet Meals

For six days of the week our staff, some of whom may live in the chalet or Chalet Hotel, prepare all your meals, as described here.

Breakfast

A good breakfast is essential on an active holiday, so we provide a choice of cereals or porridge, fruit juices, plentiful tea and coffee, local bread, cold meats, cheeses and preserves, and boiled eggs. This is normally presented buffet-style for you to help yourself.  Additionally a daily hot dish, such as sausages and bacon or pancakes is offered and cooked to order.

Light Packed Lunch

All our chalet guests are offered a complimentary light packed lunch five days per week (i.e. daily except changeover day and the staff's day off) comprising a filled roll, bag of crisps, chocolate bar, piece of fruit and a carton of juice.

Children's High Tea

The majority of our guests feel that children under 13 years can inhibit the dinner-party atmosphere at evening meals, especially if they are over-tired, so our youngsters are served high tea at about 5.30pm. We do not then allow anyone under 13 at the adult-only evening meals. High tea provides children under 13 with a healthy menu, but tailored more towards children's tastes than our main adult-only dinner.

In our Chalet Hotels only:

Children will be offered a choice of home-made healthy options for high tea, as well as standard children’s favourites, to choose from at breakfast time.

Adult-Only Chalet Dinners

Our our-course chalet dinners start with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, accompanied by a choice of wines, and followed by tea or freshly made coffee with chocolates.

'Culinary Choice' Adult-only Dinners in our Chalet Hotels

An additional feature of our Chalet Hotels is a more extensive culinary experience for our guests, with 5-course evening meals. The first four courses are as described for our chalets, but offering choices at each course, and a cheese selection will also be available each day to round off your meal if you wish.

In our Chalet Hotels only:

Adults will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a choice of two varied dishes selected for each course, plus a vegetarian option.

Teen Rangers' Meals Chalet Hotel and Chalet Meals

Our Teen Rangers have a separate meal together at 7pm on three nights a week and also eat out one night under the supervision of our staff, whilst the arrival meal and Family Barbecue are enjoyed in the company of fellow guests.

Weekly Barbecue / Alfresco Evening

Once a week, normally on Fridays (weather permitting), there are no separate meals for children, as everyone dines together at our Family Barbecue or Alfresco Evening following the Alpies Show. Cocoa Club ensures that impatient youngsters who want to 'eat & go' are well cared for, while parents enjoy a more leisurely dinner!

Special Diets

We are also happy to cater for vegetarians and other special dietary requirements - please advise us at the time of booking, and on your Booking Form.

For further useful information, please see our Booking Conditions, where unless otherwise specified, information referring to 'Chalet' applies equally to our Chalet Hotels.

Staff Day Off

In chalets, the staff will leave out a simple breakfast for you. In our Chalet Hotels, breakfast will be served as normal but without the hot option. That evening (usually Tuesday) you and your family have the chance to eat out in one of the local cafés or restaurants.

Wine Selection

Our Wine Selection

The wine selection for the Chalets and Chalet Hotels, combine crisp and fruity whites with medium to full bodied reds, for a variety of palates.

The wines are selected in conjunction with Nicolas and Véronique Perret the third generation in the Perret family’s fine wine business based in the Savoie. Nicolas is a Master of Wine, having trained at the prestigious Burgundy Wine University in Beaune.

Each season in October, Nicolas & Véronique bring over a new selection from which four wines are chosen or the coming season, based on the menus and their pure enjoyment factor.
