The Sonnenalp is a lovely chalet, originally an old farmhouse, which has been converted and renovated, to offer a superior level of traditional Austrian comfort. The well appointed bedrooms, including several suites with two separate sleeping areas, are ideal for families, who will also find the fridge in the small kitchenette in each room a handy addition. The chalet is situated just off the road from the village centre up to Kaprun’s ruined castle, and the village centre and superb Optimum Leisure Centre are just a short stroll away.
The resort Alpies Club is located in the chalet’s spacious and attractive lower ground floor, part of which can double as an additional lounge area in the evenings.

With so much to do, that even the most active family will relish the seemingly endless choice and variety, whilst those in search of relaxation will find the fresh air, pristine environment and specatacular scenery a tonic.

Between the mountains on one side and the lake on the other, there is a wealth of choice here which few resorts can match. The lake offers pleasure-boat cruises, electric and rowing-boat hire, water-skiing, snorkelling, windsurfing, sailing, fishing, and there are public beaches for swimming. Local rivers add rafting, canoeing and canyoning, and the Optimum Leisure Centre in the heart of the village has superb indoor and outdoor pools (FREE entrance for Esprit guests) a water-slide and mini-golf.
Skiing and snowboarding (best in the mornings) are available with or without instruction and children will not want to miss the fantastic 'Cool & Easy' snow-fun activities on the Kitzsteinhorn. And finally, there is also tennis, squash, and the magnificent 18-hole golf course in the valley between Kaprun and Zell.
