Hydrospeed An exciting option for families with children from 11 years, this activity is great fun, as you descend the Isère River dressed in wet-suits, life-jacket, helmet and flippers. Full instruction is given beforehand and you are collected at the end of the river trip and driven back to your car. Approx £37 for a half day. |

The Vanoise National Park Drive to nearby Peisey-Nancroix - an ideal starting point for discovering the National Park, with a Park Receptionist to advise you on all the best walks and give a host of information on Alpine nature and the park’s innovative environmental protection schemes. |

Chambéry Discover the capital city of the Savoy region - the original home of the Turin Shroud - with its colourful buildings, castle ramparts and the famous elephant monument, and maybe include a visit to the famous Parc Walibi, with its fun rides and water-park. The beauty of Belle Plagne is its easy access to open countryside, both on foot directly from our Chalet Hotel, or using the Roche de Mio cable-car. There is a hiking trail to suit everyone, whether it's looking for marmots, or wildflower-spotting, including black vanilla orchids, gentians and even the elusive edelweiss. The paths are well signposted, and you can discover glistening mountain lakes with views of Europe's highest peak, Mont Blanc. You can also plan your walks to make your way to one of the other La Plagne villages and then take the free bus back.
With 15 dedicated mountain-bike trails starting from the top cable-car stations, you can explore the high alpine meadows and peaks, before enjoying the downhill ride back to Belle Plagne. A special Bikers' Pass for approx. £35 per adult includes your bike-hire, map and use of lifts for the day.
The Welcome Wander on Sundays is a family-friendly walk for all ages, to introduce you to the local area, meet your fellow guests and plan the week's activities. The gentle walk will culminate in a scenic spot to enjoy a complimentary light packed lunch. You may then leave younger children in our child carers' capable hands and enjoy a further hour's walk if you wish.
